Awesome  Sports Car BMW 328 Hommage Concept  : BMW have come out with a new concept car to pay tribute to its own iconic 328 on its 75th birth anniversary. The original 328, when it came out in the 40s, was a legend in the auto world and was chosen as one of the top 25 cars of the century. The new concept car, aptly named by BMW as the 328 Hommage, is an ultra lightweight sports car built to mirror the principles used in creating the original 328. Since it is a ultra lightweight car, extensive use of composite material can be seen on the body of the vehicle. The car has been built using carbon fiber and reinforced plastic composite (CFRP) and weighs in at 1720 lbs. The weight of the original 328 was kept down through the use of aluminium and magnesium since CFRP was not invented back then.

Let’s now come to the power plant of the Hommage. The Hommage of the 21st century is powered by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine. Figures relating to the output of the engine are yet to be released by BMW.
As far as the look of the Hommage is concerned, it has an extremely wide and flat front end which imparts a pretty powerful and mean look to the car.

The kidney grills at the front of the car, are pretty similar to the ones used in the original 328. The stability of the car has been ensured by a carbon fiber bonnet and low-reaching sidewalls. Overall, the design of the vehicle looks impressive and it seems that BMW is going to give a fitting “Hommage” to one of its own creations.

The interior of the car is covered in fine leather and black polished aluminium which gives the interior the look of a modern day sports car. Here too, the use of carbon fiber is evident. The entire interior of the Hommage is divided into two layers; one of them extends towards the driver which includes the steering wheels, the control buttons an scoop, while the second layer begins right next to the scoop and extends towards the co-driver.
